Staining.....When making some food items with clay and need to stain them but do not have any chalk pastels at hand try a used teabag. Just pop it in an empty pot/cup with a couple of spoonfuls of water. With your paint brush wash over the your item where needed. To make it darker dab the paint brush on the teabag or do more coats until you have the colour you require.

Empty pill packets.....These make great moulds for soaps and come in all different sizes. Fill the mould with different colours of clay. If using airdry clay...allow to dry in the mould and then pop them out. If using baking clay...pop out carefully and bake as instructed.

Poppy seads.....These make great currants for scones and fruit cakes. Also you could use no hole beads.

Lids.....These make great cutters for cutting out food items from clay such as cakes, cornish pasties, scones etc... These come in an array of sizes. I use a lipsil lid (clean ofcourse) to cut out the rounds for cornish pasties.
